Story
Pushpa(Allu Arjun) is a daily bet who is a smuggler of red sandalwood in the Rayalaseema region. His goal is to be a star in the smuggling industry and, in the process he is able to take advantage of the local Mangalam Seenu(Sunil). As time passes, he is the most renowned Red sandalwood-smuggling. However, Pushpa faces a formidable rival in the shape of a forest officer Shikawat(Fahadh Faasil). What made Pushpa get to the top of the charts and what he does to take on Shikawat is the premise of Pushpa.
Technical Aspects
Music from DSP is top-quality because all of the songs are fantastic and recorded well. The lyrics by Chandra Bose are amazing. The fight scenes that are designed in the second half of the film are amazing. Allu Arjun has been styled brilliantly throughout the various stages of the film.
The camera’s work is fantastic because the forest imagery and mood of the drama are well highlighted. Editing and re-recording are not as great. Another issue is the BGM produced by DSP that isn’t adequate.
When it comes to the director Sukumar who has performed a competent job on the film. The film starts Pushpa in a good way and establishes the growth of Allu Arjun effectively. However, since he chose to split the film into two portions it slows the second part down, and there’s no dramatic arc like the earlier films by him. However, he did showcase Allu Arjun superbly.
Review
Overall, Pushpa is Allu Arjun’s single-man show as the star of the moment delivers an incredible performance. First half of the film is a good one however the second half is slow with a sluggish climax. The hype surrounding the film is high it will be able to bring impressive collections. If you can ignore the monotonous pace and a predictable story, Pushpa ends as a worthy film to take a look at.
