Story
The story continues from where the first part ended. Ram Babu (played by Venkatesh) hid the body of Varun (Nadia’s son) under the floor of a police station. He was not caught or punished for the murder case.
Six years went by and Varun’s parents still really wanted to know who killed their son. They hired a very good police officer (named Sampath) who collected more evidence showing Ram Babu committed the crime. Sampath was able to arrest Ram Babu.
The rest of the story is about how Ram Babu is able to protect his family again and get out of this very dangerous situation he is in.
Review
The music by Anil Johnson is impressive, especially the soothing background music which was very effective. The camerawork was also praised, showing the crime and police investigation setup in an impactful way. The dialogues by R Samala added depth to the film. The screenplay by Jeethu Joseph was quite gripping.
The production design was amazing, handling the interval and climax twists well. The director Jeethu Joseph did a very good job with the sequel. He kept things realistic and contemporary. The way he showed the detailed investigation without taking cinematic liberties was well done. The way he ended the climax was also well thought out.
Overall, Drishyam 2 lived up to expectations. It had solid performances, good twists, and crisp narration.
