Amrutham Dhvitheeyam is a funny web series in two languages – Telugu and Hindi. The web series was directed by Gunnam Sandeep and released on the ZEE5 streaming service on March 25, 2020. The main actors were Harsha Vardhan, L. B. Sriram, Sivannarayana, Naripeddi, Ragini, Vasu Inturi and Satya Krishnan.

Story

The show is about the friendship between Amrutham and Anji, who co-own the Amruta Vilas restaurant together under Appaji’s legal ownership. But their plans to make the business successful often lead to funny misadventures instead of good results.

Amrutham and Anji are confident they can innovate and make their hotel business successful. They never give up on their dream of becoming successful hoteliers, which leads to comical situations and hilarious conversations between them.

Their friendship is heartwarming, and they enjoy friendly joking banter with each other that is often humorous. Their meetings with a character named Sarvam are especially comical.

Sarvam’s strange reactions when seeing them after a long time add to the humor of the show. The series also subtly mocks overused movie clichés, adding another clever comedic layer.

When Amrutham and Anji try to find an investor for their business, their innocent approach leads to hilarious situations caused by Appaji’s deceptive behavior. Whenever Appaji mentions a dish from Amruta Vilas, viewers can’t help but laugh out loud!

Review

“Amrutham Dhvitheeyam” is a very entertaining and funny show. The actors do an excellent job in portraying their characters. Fans of the original “Amrutham” series will appreciate the nostalgic feel as well as the blend of humour, camaraderie and smart satire – which makes it a fun journey everyone should watch!

Vasu Inturi, Trisul Mahesh and Gunnam Ganga Raju have done a good job of capturing the spirit of the original by providing plenty of laughs in the new episodes.

As an avid watcher of Amrutham when it first aired in the early 2000s, I can confidently say that the sequel delivers big laughs. The recapped history of the main characters is engaging and hilarious with plenty of storytelling and witty dialogue.

Amrutham and Appaji are going to persevere despite obstacles they have a resilient nature. Their jokes elicited energetic laughs, such as the line “God will plan your way out” that had the audience laughing out loud.

The humor also comes from clever wordplay, such as the metaphorical use of proper names like “Lena Dena Bank.” Though some viewers felt that the joke about Brahmotsav could have been played better.

One interesting feature is the English episode titles like “When failure becomes your friend” which adds entertainment value.

The title music by Kalyani Malik and lyrics by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, “Orey Anjaneyulu”, is a brilliant contribution that still feels fresh.

Mitesh Parvataneni’s cinematography is truly exceptional, capturing the characters and the setting perfectly.
