Story
The story of ‘Manjummel Boys’ is set in 2006. A group of close friends from Manjummel decide to travel to a hill station called Kodaikanal They are jealous of a rival group of friends who frequent trips a it’s fun and they live to… the fullest.
Wanting to have an adventure of their own, the Manjummel boys travel to Kodaikanal to visit the famous Guna Cave. During a caving trip, a friend accidentally falls into a deep pit in a cave called the “vampire kitchen”. This pit is notorious because no one who has ever fallen has not survived.
The main plot of the film shows how the other group of friends, the Manjummel boys, work together and find a way to rescue their friend who has fallen into Satan’s deadly kitchen pit.
Technical Aspects
The screenplay by Ajay Chalissery, sound design by Shijin Hatan and Abhishek Nair, background music by Shusin Shyam and cinematography by Shyaju Khalid all brought energy and life to this well-crafted survival thriller.
The editing in the second half of the film was good, but could have done a bit better in the first hour.
Director Chidambaram’s direction was appreciated, especially the way he imagined and presented the major social issues in an entertaining manner on the big screen. He also did a good job with the emotional aspects of the story. Legendary actor Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Guna’ also pays tribute to his famous song ‘Priyathama’.
One area that could have been improved, however, was the first hour of the film, which, according to some reviews, wasn’t as great as the second half. But overall, strong technical features and Chidambaram’s decent direction made ‘Manjummel Boys’ a thrilling survival thriller.

Overall, Manjummel Boys is a wonderful film with have survival thriller seen that full of emotional. The second half of the film is very gripping, and the way the rescue is shot will keep viewers captivated. Leading actors Soubin Shahir, Srinath Bhasi, Deepak Parambol and the rest did a good job in their roles.
But strong technical features like cinematography and sound make the Manjummel Boys worth watching in theaters. An exciting second half and solid acting overcome the flaws.
