Story
The film story around the three young schoolgirls – Shalini, Geetanjali and Nima. What began as an easy friendship turned uneasy when their classmate Asifa began raising them in the warped ideology of the Islamic State.
Shalini’s life took a turn when she and her husband were persuaded to travel to Syria to fight for a terrorist cause. But their journey took a dark turn when they were imprisoned in Afghanistan. Through haunting details, Shalini narrates a series of events in which she gradually succumbed to the negative forces at play.

Adah Sharma’s performance as Shalini in the film was surprisingly powerful and nuanced. The way he brought the character’s weaknesses and inner strengths to life was truly amazing.
What surprised me the most was how he truly captured Shalini’s Malayali accent and character in Hindi. Those subtle yet powerful details are what made his painting feel real and immersive. You could really feel Shalini’s roots and upbringing in Adah’s performance.
It was amazing to watch his ability to adapt to the innocent Shalini who shows no attachment and how he shows his calm strength in the face of overwhelming adversity apart from Adah’s emotional range and his dedication to simply conveying all the intricacies of this character is highly commendable.
It’s games like this that have the ability to really take the audience to the heart of the story being told on screen. Adah Sharma definitely poured her heart and soul with sincerity and faith to bring Shalini’s heartbreaking journey to life.
